Food Drive for Hurricane Harvey

The Democratic Women of Comal County sponsored a food drive for the victims of Hurricane Harvey. The drive ran from Monday, August 28th to Saturday, September 2nd. Members collected non-perishable foods, canned goods, personal hygiene items, kitchen supplies and much more. DWCC stepped up to take part in helping with the relief of the flooding over Texas. Many of our members were directly affected by Harvey. Families and friends were trapped in their houses and where the water raised as high as 5 feet. Thank you to all who volunteered in receiving items, packing boxes, traveling to San Antonio and New Braunfels Food Banks, and to those who took the time to come out and donate. Democratic Women was featured in the Herald Zeitung for their efforts in collecting much needed items for the people of the coastal cities.
